The second Rotunda of the National Park Center Kellerwald introduces some smaller inhabitants of the very pure springs and creeks of the National Park. Some of them originate from the alps, came with the glaciers of the ice age and stayed here ever since. As counterpart of a real spring in the middle of the room the walls are illuminated by projections of 3D animated water drops that slowly trickle over glass. The drops work as magnifying glasses to reveal a glimpse of the creatures that float, swim and crawl by in the background: tiny Niphargids, Turbellaria, caddisfly larvea, stonefly nymphs and fire salamander larvae. Since creatures and drops keep moving slowly the encounters through the magnifying glasses are brief – but appear all the time all over the walls. The projections are different time shifts of a 3D animation.
